Additional Security using Lock Encryption

Introduction

This article provides instructions on introducing additional security measures to encrypt and decrypt projects or environments in your system. By following the steps outlined below, users can enhance the security of their data and ensure that only authorized individuals can access sensitive information.

Encryption

To encrypt your project or environment, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the project or environment.
  2. Find Apply Encryption.
  3. When prompted, enter the password and confirm it. Make sure this password is strong and kept safe.
  1. After entering and confirming your password, right-click and select Lock Encryption. Click the Lock button. This will add an additional layer of protection to your project.

Note: If your project is locked, the context menu option Lock Encryption is disabled to prevent unauthorized access.

How to Change Password

If you wish to change the lock password for your project or environment, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on your project or environment.
  2. Select Change Lock Password.

  3. You will be prompted to enter your lock password and create a new one. Ensure your new password meets any existing password validation and rules.

When the encrypted environment is not decrypted, the Change Password dialog appears.

Remove Encryption

To remove encryption from your project or environment, please follow these steps:

  1. Select the project or environment.
  2. Click on Remove Encryption and enter the encryption and lock passwords.

Following the unlock, you will be prompted for an unencrypted password. Enter the correct password to access your project.

Note: Resetting secret encryption will also reset lock encryption, ensuring all security measures are reset to their default state.
