Avoid Metadata performance issues
To get rid of corrupt metadata, while downloading metadata, let it download completely until it gets 100% and the In-progress tab running process is done.
Do not click on any test case, test step, or at any part of the UI in the middle of downloading metadata. It increases the chances of corrupting metadata.
