Creating a New Test Project
Last Modified:
The Test Project collects all your test-related data, including test cases and Connections.
You must have a Test Project set up before creating or running any test cases in Automation.
Before creating a new test project, you’ll need to have a workspace. If you do not have the Provar Launcher window and need to create a new workspace or select a different workspace, visit the File Menu and select Switch Workspace.
Create a name for your workspace and select Launch.
On the welcome screen, if you wish to create a new Test Project, choose Create New tile, and you will be presented with the New Provar Test Project screen.
To start a fresh Test Project select the Create New tile. If you don’t need to start from scratch, learn how to import a local test project or import one from version control.
Supply a name for your Test Project.
If you wish to choose a location for your project that is not within the workspace, uncheck the Use Default Location checkbox and specify your location. Leaving this ticked is recommended.
To create one or more Connections immediately, you can tick checkboxes for Create a Salesforce connection or Create a Database connection. To create these later, leave these options unticked. Click Next > to continue.
For more information about creating different types of Salesforce connections, please refer to our documentation pages.
Test your connection to verify settings.
A new window will open and test the connection. Click Ok, making corrections to the connection if necessary until successful.
Finally, click Finish to create your new test project.
Automation will start downloading the metadata for any Salesforce connections and validate the Test Cases against this downloaded metadata. It is recommended to let these operations complete before use.
