V2 Spring '26 Release 2 (v2.18.2)
Executive Summary
We’re excited to announce the latest enhancements with the Provar Spring ’26 Release 2(v2.18.2). This release introduces enhanced visibility and efficiency in layout validation with the ability to export Assert Layout results to Excel, enabling clear side-by-side comparisons, pass/fail tracking, and easier discrepancy analysis. You can download and install this release from the Provar Success Portal directly.
Mandatory Installation Instructions
This release includes a major platform upgrade, moving Provar to an Eclipse 4.36-based RCP application. The new base provides significant security improvements, enhanced stability, and better long-term support while maintaining compatibility with existing workspaces.
- Although the application remains compatible with existing workspaces, we recommend creating a new workspace.
- Users must delete the UserHome/Provar/.configuration folder or rename them if a backup is needed.
- Delete UserHome/Provar/.chromeProfiles folder mandatory only if they chose Edge Browser as Test Authoring option.
Provar Automation Features and Enhancements
Export Assert Layout results in an Excel file
Assert Layout results can now be exported to an Excel sheet with a clear, column-to-column comparison of previously extracted and newly captured layout values. This improves visibility and simplifies result analysis.
- Side-by-side comparison of extracted vs. asserted layout values
- Pass/Fail status for each comparison row
- Case-sensitive comparison supported
- Structured Excel format with tabs aligned to Extract Layout for consistency
- Comparison scoped to layout type (e.g., Dynamic Form with Dynamic Form, Record Layout with Record Layout)

The benefits include faster validation and easier identification of discrepancies, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy in layout verification.
Note: A dedicated “Difference” column is included based on feasibility, considering data types and complexity of changes.

Bug Fixes
Improved Microsoft Exchange OAuth 2.0 Connection Reliability
Improved Microsoft Exchange OAuth 2.0 connection support to ensure reliable authentication and successful connection testing with valid credentials.
Improved Date Format Handling and Parsing Reliability
With this release the date-time formatting issue is resolved where incorrect static values were returned instead of dynamic time. Corrected handling of hour, minute, and second values to ensure accurate and expected date-time outputs.
Fixed Date Format Inconsistency in Version 2.17.1
Fixed an issue where date formats did not work as expected in version 2.17.1, despite working correctly in earlier versions.
Resolved inconsistencies to ensure reliable and consistent date handling across environments.
Fix for Existing Case Test Steps Failing issue due to Locator Resolution Errors
Resolved an issue where previously working test steps failed during execution. The failure occurred on multiple Case-related fields, while newly remapped fields worked successfully. This fix restores compatibility for existing mappings and ensures smooth execution without requiring remapping of affected steps
Resolved Execution Failures for Standard Fields Due to XPath Mapping Issues
Fixed an issue where execution failed for standard fields despite successful mapping.
Improved XPath generation by removing dependency on layout sections and adding a fallback mechanism, ensuring reliable execution across all fields.
Resolved OAuth Token Refresh Failures During Parallel Execution
Fixed an issue where OAuth connections intermittently failed during parallel test execution with token refresh errors. Improved connection handling to ensure stable and reliable execution across multiple parallel sessions.
