Automation V3: Enable or Disable AI Features in Provar

Overview

With the V3 (Version 3.0.5) release, Provar introduces AI-powered features designed to enhance productivity and testing capabilities. To support a secure, controlled, and phased rollout, AI features are disabled by default. Administrators can explicitly enable or disable these features based on organizational readiness and governance requirements.

Before You Begin

  • You must have System Admin privileges.
  • AI feature control is managed only through the Provar UI.

For AI Services Enablement, users may encounter an error message “AI services can’t be enabled now due to a technical issue” and to resolve this follow these steps.

Who Can Manage AI Settings

Only users with System Admin privileges can modify AI feature settings. Non-admin users can view the setting but cannot change it; the option appears disabled (i.e. greyed out).

How to Enable or Disable AI Features

  1. Open Settings in Provar
  2. Navigate to Preferences.
  3. Locate the AI Features toggle.

Enabling or Disabling AI Features

  • Enabled: All AI-powered features become available to end users across the product.
  • Disabled: AI-powered features are fully hidden and blocked in both the UI and backend. Users cannot see, access or trigger any AI functionality.

The changes take effect immediately after the setting is updated.

Logging and Auditability

  • Any change to the AI enablement setting is logged for traceability.
  • AI enable/disable status is also captured by the instrumentation server for analytics and monitoring.

Notes

  • AI feature control is no longer managed through the provar.ini file.
  • After this release, enabling or disabling AI features using provar.ini is not supported.
  • The implementation approach may vary based on architectural considerations, but the behavior and controls described here remain consistent.

The admin-controlled AI enablement setting ensures a safe and transparent way to adopt AI-powered capabilities in Provar V3, giving organizations full control over when and how AI features are introduced to end users.
