Smarter Testing with Provar AI

Provar V3 introduces Provar AI—a suite of embedded tools to simplify and accelerate test design.

Provar Assistant
Our new in-product AI assistant helps you get answers fast. Ask questions, troubleshoot issues, and explore best practices without ever leaving the tool.

Test Step Generator
Generate complete test flows in seconds—just select a page and let Provar do the work.
Up to 88% authoring time saved.

Bulk Test Data Generator
Generate thousands of realistic records in just a few clicks.
Save hours on manual data seeding.

Utterance Generator
Automatically generate sample utterances for a given intent to support                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         conversational testing. Intent Validator
Validate whether a user utterance accurately expresses a specified intent using this new API.

This tool supports consistent testing of Natural Language Understanding (NLU) behavior.

  • Inputs: Intent (required) and Utterance (required)
  • Output: Returns one of three values—true, false, or unknown
  • Purpose: Confirms intent recognition accuracy for conversational interfaces
  • Result Handling: Stores the result in the TestAPI’s Result Name attribute for further use in test workflows

Example outputs include:

  • true: “I need to book a flight tonight.” → matches book flight
  • false: “Can I make a new reservation?” → does not match cancel reservation
  • unknown: Ambiguous or irrelevant utterances like “Should I bring cash or card?”

Component-Based Testing Mode

These enhancements make the Page Object more powerful by adding  support for component-based testing:

  • Dual Mapping Support
Fields can now be mapped as both Web Elements and Web Components within the same Page Object.
  • New Annotation: @WebComponent
Improves organization and clarity of test code by clearly marking component fields under the page objects.

Benefits:

  • Flexibility to manage both traditional and modern UI elements
  • Unified approach to manage both under Page Object
  • Enhanced maintainability and readability
  • Better locator precision for Lightning and Vlocity fields
  • Simplified testing of complex UIs

Chrome 137+ Behavior Change: Test Builder

Google Chrome v137 introduces new requirements for extensions. As a result:

  • Provar’s Chrome extension must now be manually installed from the Chrome Web Store (one-time setup per machine).
  • A prompt will appear when launching Test Builder if the extension is missing.
  • Once installed, the extension will persist—even across workspace changes or Provar upgrades.

Backward Compatibility & Support

  • Full backward compatibility: Your existing V2 projects will work seamlessly in V3
  • V2 support continues: We’ll support V2 during customer migration
  • Flexible migration: We’ll work with you to plan your move to V3 at the right pace

Reverting to V2?
If you need to return to V2 after using V3, follow these cleanup steps to avoid workspace or configuration conflicts:

  1. Delete versioned config folders:
    {UserHome}\Provar\.configuration\{versioned config folders}
  2. Delete the Chrome profile:
    {UserHome}\Provar\.chromeProfile
  3. Reimport your project into a new workspace in V2

These steps ensure a clean and compatible environment when switching between major versions.

Terminology Update

  • Custom APIs are now called Custom Test Steps
